Many consultants and experts wish to appropriate the "Carbon Footprint Calculation" skill and to be able to provide the necessary carbon strategy advice to their clients. Indeed, this skill is more and more requested by companies and local authorities who wish to measure and reduce their CO2 emissions, motivated by the new regulatory constraints and the direct and indirect benefits of this commitment.
A carbon footprint reports on an organization's carbon footprint. By quantifying all directly or indirectly generated greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, it enables action plans to be put in place to reduce them as much as possible.
Mandatory for companies with more than 50 employees and benefiting from the stimulus plan (Finance Law 2021, art. 244), for those with more than 500 employees, or 250 employees for overseas departments, as well as for local authorities with more than 50,000 inhabitants (Grenelle II Law, July 12, 2010), it is also a decision with economic, commercial and eco-responsible impacts that are widely appreciated by all types of companies.

Is a complete check-up complex?
A balance sheet is an exhaustive collection of a company's emissions. It is broken down into three scopes that classify a company's greenhouse gas emissions by item, or by type of activity.
- Scope 1: so-called direct emissions: emissions from fixed or mobile installations located within the organizational perimeter
- Scope 2: indirect energy-related emissions: emissions associated with the production of electricity, heat, steam or cooling
- Scope 3: other indirect emissions
The integration of the three scopes in a GHG balance enables a complete review of an organization's emissions.
Once the assessment has been carried out, it is necessary to reduce the emissions recorded and to define a low-carbon trajectory.
The concept of Bilan Carbone, which is in fact only a registered trademark in France, has always made it difficult to understand. Was this intended to justify the intervention of experts?

L’Expert Agréé Decarbo’Solution® (E.A) a une mission principale de présentation des services Decarbo’Solution®, de conviction de ses interlocuteurs de leur autonomie pour s’en servir, et de diffuser cette bonne pratique à l’ensemble de leurs filiales, sous-traitants et fournisseurs.
En complément, il peut proposer, ou sous-traiter dans le réseau d’Experts Agréés Decarbo’Solution®, des prestations d’accompagnement et de conseils pour la réduction des émissions de GES, la définition et le pilotage d’un engagement RSE. Il peut aussi recevoir ce type de mission de la part d’un autre Expert en Bilan Carbone ou d’un client Decarbo’Solution® intéressé par ses compétences particulières.
