What a Well-Conducted Décarbon’Action® Assessment Reveals
What does climate action in a company really look like today? We can no longer settle for mere rhetoric: every initiative, every project must be based on concrete, measurable, and shared goals. Regardless of a company’s size, the pressure is mounting: GHG emissions, regulatory requirements, customer and investor expectations, the rise of CSR and ESG… It’s no longer enough to simply conduct an emissions inventory (BEGES); companies must demonstrate their ability to manage the decarbonization of their operations, structure a genuine carbon transition, and integrate this issue at the heart of their energy management.
It is in this context that Diag Décarbon’Action® becomes a true tool for transformation. Much more than just a tool for conducting a GHG assessment, it offers comprehensive support—developed by public agencies such as Bpifrance and ADEME—to help companies move from assessment to action.
The result: a credible roadmap, shared results, and, above all, a new way of viewing the transition—no longer as a constraint, but as a driver of performance and innovation.

The Diag Décarbon’Action®, a key driver of environmental performance
When a company wants to take a step toward a more sustainable future, it can take advantage of the Diag Décarbon’Action® program, which includes a €4,000 grant provided by ADEME and Bpifrance.
This program is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies across all sectors and provides funding for part of the support needed for the low-carbon transition.
But it’s not just a simple BEGES. The Diag lays the groundwork, structures the process, and enables the company to develop a genuine emissions reduction plan.
The result: we’re making progress, bringing people together, and restoring meaning to the project.
Action becomes concrete, coordinated, and shared.
Diag Décarbon’Action®: Practical Assistance for Developing a Low-Carbon Pathway
The Diag Décarbon’Action® is a program that includes a grant funded by ADEME and Bpifrance; it enables small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies to benefit from structured support to begin their low-carbon transition.
€4,000 in funding is available to finance this initial GHG assessment, followed by an operational action plan.
In practical terms, a well-executed assessment allows a company to thoroughly examine its operations. We no longer settle for a simple total: We analyze the carbon footprint in detail—operations, purchases, energy, transportation, and more…
This analysis identifies concrete levers specific to each organization. We no longer simply endure decarbonization—we actively drive it.
The company is anticipating its clients’ future regulatory requirements (CSRD, SNBC, ESG/CSR, etc.), refining its GHG emissions management, and enhancing and reinvigorating its decarbonization efforts.
Turning numbers into action and developing a concrete business plan
The Diag Décarbon’Action® doesn’t stop at the BEGES—it puts it to good use.
Data is turned into decisions, and findings give way to concrete, prioritized action plans tailored to the realities of the business.
This program, led by ADEME and Bpifrance, has replaced the public aid program “Tremplin pour la transition écologique”
It is fully in line with the acceleration plan for the ecological transition of microbusinesses and small and medium-sized enterprises, launched by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
The support program is structured around five main steps:
- The study framework (context, objectives, scope, timeline, etc.)
- Data Collection
- Preparation and Presentation of the GHG Report
- Collaborative Development of the Climate Action Plan
- And the company's transition
Throughout the project, clear and comprehensive deliverables are provided to the company: a scope statement, a consolidated data file, a final report, a communication summary, and more. These tools enable the company to effectively manage emissions reduction while demonstrating its commitment to stakeholders.
The methodology used is based on ADEME’s Bilan Carbone® framework, with emissions factors derived from the Base Empreinte®. This ensures rigor, regulatory compliance, and credibility.
But one of the major strengths of Diag Décarbon’Action® is the quality of the personalized support it provides: companies are guided by professionals accredited by Bpifrance and ADEME.
And at Decarbo’Solution®, we’re proud to be not only listed but also recognized for the quality of the work performed by our team of consultants:
“According to a survey conducted by Bpifrance, 100% of the beneficiaries surveyed said they were satisfied with the support provided by our Decarbo’Solution® experts as part of the Diag Décarbon’Action® program.”
With Decarbo’Solution®, companies receive step-by-step guidance in a clear, structured, and accessible format.
Conducting the assessment becomes straightforward, teams are mobilized, and the environmental transition takes the form of a genuine corporate initiative.
How to ensure the long-term viability and growth of your business through a successful low-carbon strategy.
A structured and reassuring framework for taking action
The Diag Décarbon’Action® also offers simplicity, clear guidance, and steps that make decarbonization a tangible reality for all teams.
We make progress, we gain understanding, and we develop our skills.
At Decarbo’Solution®, we have helped several companies with this initiative.
Among them is Natural Grass, which has succeeded in turning this initiative into a true collaborative effort.
Understanding to Take Action: The Example of Natural Grass
Natural Grass, a European specialist in high-performance sports turf, has chosen to address climate challenges by adopting an ambitious low-carbon strategy. To structure this
As part of this initiative, the company completed its first BEGES with experts from Decarbo’Solution® as part of a Diag Décarbon’Action® assessment.
The result: an accurate assessment, revealing 5,716 metric tons of CO2e emitted during the base year. This figure is useful because it identifies the key areas for action: raw materials, logistics, transportation, procurement, and more. The company now knows where to focus its efforts.
But this initiative went beyond simply taking stock of the current situation. It resulted in a concrete roadmap aligned with Natural Grass’s priorities:
- A 14% reduction in relative GHG emissions by 2027
- Selection of recycled and recyclable materials
- Optimizing Resources on Construction Sites
- Sustainable Mobility
- Logistics Rethought
- Promoting Reuse and the Circular Economy
All of this, combined with tailored support, team awareness-building, and simple tools to turn strategy into measurable results.
“This approach was very well received by all stakeholders. Our teams and management saw it as an opportunity to structure our efforts in support of the ecological transition, while our suppliers and partners welcomed this initiative, which is part of a process of shared responsibility and continuous improvement.”
— Marlène Pivard, Director of Marketing & Communications
“The collaboration was smooth, constructive, and truly tailored to our needs. We maintained constant communication with the Decarbo’Solution® experts, and each step was carried out under optimal conditions.”
This Diag Décarbon’Action® assessment did more than just produce a GHG inventory: it helped launch a collective, credible, and engaging project that is aligned with the realities on the ground.
A proven operational tool
To date, Decarbo’Solution® engineers have assisted more than 80 companies in conducting a Diag Décarbon’Action®.
